12 Strays of Christmas Kicks off Saturday, Dec 12th!
Posted by: shelter | Posted on: December 9, 2009Saturday, December 12th, the NAFC Animal Shelter will be offering to the public our first two “Strays of Christmas”. Everyday, between now and December 23rd, a needy dog and cat will be selected to be featured as a “Stray of Christmas”. The stray selected will be available for free to a qualified adopter. The animal’s adoption fee will actually be paid for by a generous sponsor.
Pets that are chosen to be featured will be our dogs and cats that have been here the longest, or may have special needs, making them a little more difficult to find the right forever home for. We have MANY dogs and even MORE cats that are looking for a home this holiday season. Could now be the right time to offer a four legged friend a home? Adoptions have declined this year, and more animals than ever are waiting patiently for someone to love them!
If you want to help, but can’t adopt, more sponsorships are needed. Our 12 Strays of Christmas program generated a lot of interest last year, increasing shelter traffic, and placing 28 animals, some that had been at the shelter for over a year!  With community support, we look forward to another successful campaign. This is a sample of an add from last year featured in the Tribune. Watch for your new friends fuzzy face to appear each evening between 4 and 5 pm!
