The New Albany Floyd County Animal Control & Shelter is reducing the adoption fee on all cats over 4 months of age. In summer months, the cat overpopulation problem heats up, and swells the number of homeless cats in shelters. In an attempt to place as many cats as possible, our cat adoption fee is being slashed by $25.00!

These cats are already spayed or neutered, Feline Leukemia and FIV tested negative, vaccinated, wormed, treated for fleas, and microchipped. In addition, they come with an adoption gift pack and starter bag of food! The cats included in this special will have special markings on their cage cards at all four of our adoption locations. There are many young kittens at the shelter also available for a $60 adoption fee, and have had the same medical attention. The discounted adoption fee does not apply to these kittens. This offer begins on Saturday, July 25th and will run till August 5, 2009.

This reduced adoption campaign is being funded by The Floyd County Animal Rescue League (FCARL).This non-profit organization provides vital funding for the care of animals at our municipal shelter. Last year alone, FCARL provided over $2,000 of adoption assistance to help animals find forever homes, and spent approximately $18,000 for routine medical care for shelter animals.
