Fall Newsletter

We want to thank everyone for reading and enjoying our newsletter! Due to an increase in business with the Shelter, the newsletter will now be a seasonal newsletter. Below is a sneak peek at the Fall Newsletter! The full newsletter can be viewed by clicking the “About Our Shelter” tab above!

All You Need to Know: Dog Park

It’s finally here! The New Albany Dog Park is completed and passes are being sold.

The dog park has been constructed at Cannon Acres in New Albany off Budd Road – just a few minutes from downtown. It isn’t fully completed yet, but is expected to be finished and open October 1st!

There are two separate fenced in areas for dogs to play. One is for small dogs, and one for larger dogs. There is also a swimming hole for them to enjoy! No other area Dog Parks have this feature! The dog park also offers a smaller individual training area for those wanting to work one on one with their dogs!

Free Microchips for Veterans

For all of those who have selflessly fought for our Nation, the New Albany Animal Shelter and the Floyd County Animal Rescue League wants to say “Thank you”! For many veterans, their pets are a huge part of their lives. We want to help insure that veterans will always be able to be reunited with their pets if an accident were to happen and the pet goes missing.

Pet of the Week: Ares

areslogoAres is a handsome young lab that is believed to be about 2 years old. He has already been tossed around several times in the last several months due to his high energy levels. He just needs an energetic family that can keep up with him and is willing to teach him some manners.  While he is very sweet, he would do best in a home without small children, as he is not aware of his size and strength. He is already neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested negative, and current on vaccinations. His adoption fee is only $80. If interested, you can visit him at the New Albany Floyd County Animal Shelter. More adoptable animals can be seen by clicking the tab above labeled “Adoptable Animals”.

Pet of the Week: Doc

DocDoc and his 2 brothers, Sleepy & Sneezy, are young rats asking for a new home. They do not come with a cage that they can comfortably live in, so the new owners would need to provide this. They will come with some extras though. They are rather shy currently, but with work would probably become much more cuddly.  They are $3 a piece! The have not been neutered. Please visit these little guys at the New Albany Animal Shelter today!  More adoptable animals can be seen by clicking the “Adoptable Pets” tab above!
