Pet of the Week: Spooks

Spooks is a very independent boy that wants to be an only cat. He is estimated to be a few years old.  He would do best in a home with no pets or children, or maybe even as a barn cat. His adoption fee has been sponsored so he may go home free of charge to qualifying adopters. He is already neutered, microchipped, current on vaccinations and Felv/FIV tested negative. Jingle Bell Boarding and Christmas Fostering

The New Albany Floyd Co Animal Control & Shelter is on a mission, along with nearly 3,500 other shelters from around the world, to help place 1.5 million homeless pets together with loving adoptive families. The New Albany Animal Shelter has several programs in place to make this holiday season truly magical.

-Jingle Bell Boarding-

Many families enjoy the surprised look on their children’s faces on Christmas morning when they see their new furry friend under the Christmas tree! Hiding a new pet until Christmas is very hard, even for Santa! Starting on Saturday, December 19th families and Santa, can take part in the Jingle Bell Boarding to help make this Christmas special. The Jingle Bell Boarding program allows families to adopt an animal of their choosing, and keep it at the Shelter until Christmas Eve for an extra $7.50 per day. Animals in this program will need to be picked up on December 24th, between 10:30 and 11:00AM. Payment and adoption is completed in full prior before close on December 23rd.

-“Christmas in a Shelter is No Place to Be” Fostering-

If your family is just looking for a house guest for the holidays, consider the “Christmas in a Shelter is No Place to Be” Foster Program. Adoptable animals are able to be fostered from Wednesday, December 23rd through Saturday, December 26th.
