Next Training Class Session Now Enrolling!

Are you interested in enrolling in our next session of training classes? We are now enrolling for the next 8 week session that begins on September 22nd at 6pm, but please come by the shelter to pay, fill out enrollment forms, and get more information. The first day is an orientation where dogs will be fitted with an appropriate collar, and we will have an introduction to K9 massage course. This is an important beginning step that starts teaching dogs to relax in the prescence of other dogs and people!

Please call 812-948-5355 if you have any questions!

The August Newsletter is now available!

Below you can find a sneak peek! Hope you enjoy it!

PAWS Rock the Riverfront

The Floyd County Animal Rescue League (FCARL) is very excited to be holding a benefit concert with the Louisville Philanthropic group Cabo Wabo on Saturday, September 7th, at the New Albany Amphitheater.  The New Albany Animal Shelter is acting as a support organization for FCARL, just as they so often support us!

This  event is being called P.A.W.S. (Pets Are Worth Saving) Rock the Riverfront and it will feature delicious food from JR’s Pub, plenty of beer, and live entertainment by The Rumors and 100% Poly! The Riverfront will be rockin’ from 6PM until Midnight!

 Who Knew? Strange Animal Facts

We all know cats land on their feet and dogs wag their tails when happy. But do you know which animal has hairy eyes or what to call a group of kangaroos? Here’s a list of weird and wild animal facts — from Aardvark to Zebra — and other creatures in between, courtesy of the amazing animal kingdom.

The blue whale is the loudest animal on earth.

Cats do not have collarbones, allowing them to fit in any opening that their head can fit.

Dalmatians are the only breed of dog that suffers from gout.

Most full grown elephants weigh less than a blue whales tongue.
