Pet of the Week: Nicolette
Nicolette is a quiet 5 year old domestic short haired cat. She is a cat that needs a calm and less stressful home. Nicolette likes attention, but on her own terms. She likes to cuddle under blankets, too. She is already spayed, microchipped, Felv/FIV tested negative, and current on vaccines. Her adoption fee is only $20. Please visit her at the New Albany Animal Shelter today!
Pet of the Week: Burt
Burt is a high energy beagle mix that is estimated to be about 2 years old. He will need regular training as it seems he has had very little previously. He does have great potential to learn though! He does great with people of all ages and other animals. He is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative, and microchipped. His adoption fee is only $80. Visit him at the New Albany Animal Shelter today.

A Letter to our Supporters
Dear Floyd County Residents,
As many of you are probably aware, the County Council has decided to cut the Shelter’s funds by $150,000. This is 49% of their portion of the total budget for the year. We are all aware that budget cuts happen every year to different departments. Well here is my opinion on why this department is different, and why this cut is not okay, and how it could affect you.
Here is a scenario I want you to consider. You live in Floyd County (outside of the city limits). You notice a shy cat standing off in the distance, not wanting to interact. Your thoughts are- Well I could call Animal Control to come remove it since it doesn’t seem very friendly. This would be a fine idea and an easy solution if you had animal control services available to you.
Dog Days at the Drive-In
It’s that time of year again! On July 11th, the Georgetown Twin Drive-In Theater is opening its gates to four legged family members, allowing dogs on leash to attend for a $2.00 admission fee. All dog admission fees collected will be donated to the NAFC Animal Shelter.
The Drive-In’s main feature will be Minions!
Tonights County Council Meeting
We just received the county council agenda at 10:50 am today and understand the animal shelter is on the agenda under new business with the Auditor under a notation of FIA (Freedom of Information Act) Requests. The original requests have been filled and another has been made that is pending and no meeting has been set to explain any questions they may have about the information they have received so we conclude the Auditor will just be updating the council on the progress of these requests. We feel if our supporters would like to attend to keep the issue current and show the citizens are still supporters of the shelter that would be fine. If anyone would like to stop by and pick up any of the signs we had made we would be happy to issue them out to folks. Thanks for speaking for those that cannot and for the Animal Shelter.
The meeting will be held at the Pineview Gov’t Center at 6:00PM
