Puppy Day at Paws at Play on August 15th!
The New Albany Floyd County Animal Shelter is thrilled to announce another dog friendly event happening in our community. On August 15th, from 10am – 2pm, we will be hosting an adoption event geared towards PUPPIES at our Paws at Play facility located at 709 Lewis & Clark Parkway, Clarksville, IN.
We will have our adoptable puppies at this location, including some assorted small breed puppies from our mill dog rescue in June. All adopters will have to go through an application process, and not all puppies will be able to leave that day. We hope to have additional puppies from other area rescues!
Booths will be set up by a few area dog related businesses, giveaways, and a kid friendly “special†duck pond game will be available. In addition, a story reading and meet and greet from some puppy mill survivors will be held at 1:00pm.
Don’t miss this special event. If you’re looking for a puppy or just some fun, Paws at Play is the place to be on August 15th . All puppies will be current on vaccinations, microchipped, and altered. All these are included in the $80 adoption fee!

Ridgeview Animal Clinic Hosts Dog Wash to Help the Mill Dogs!

Ridgeview Animal Clinic is hosting a Dog Wash to help offset the care and expenses involved in caring for the puppy mill dogs from the June 2nd seizure. Dog washing teams will be scrubbing your dirty dog from 1-4pm on August 8th at their clinic! The clinic is located at 2723 Paoli Pike in New Albany. Your free will donation will all go to the shelter!
If you would like to help by providing a dog wash team contact Theresa at 812-948-5355 or Angela at 812-945-0423. Remember to bring your pooch for a bath that day!
Pick Your Purr-fect Partner (at 50%)!
The New Albany Floyd County Animal Control & Shelter is reducing the adoption fee on all cats over 4 months of age. In summer months, the cat overpopulation problem heats up, and swells the number of homeless cats in shelters. In an attempt to place as many cats as possible, our cat adoption fee is being slashed by $25.00!Â

Wags ‘N Whiskers Wagon Will be Featured at Sellersburg Storage Express
STORAGE EXPRESS celebrates the grand opening of its newest self-storage facility in Sellersburg, IN on Thursday, June 25 from Noon until 2:00 pm. The public is invited to join the Storage Express staff at the new property located in Sellersburg off Hwy 311, behind El Nopal and River Valley Bank.
Members of One Southern Indiana and company representatives will participate in a ribbon cutting ceremony at Noon. THE MAX radio 102.3 will broadcast live from the event, where a variety of enjoyable activities will include a visit by the Whiskers Wagon operated by the New Albany Floyd County Animal Control & Shelter.  The Whiskers Wagon brings its animal passengers to events throughout the Clark & Floyd County area. It provides an opportunity for pet lovers to become acquainted with dogs and cats available for adoption. Earlier this year, Jefferson Shreve, the owner/president of Storage Express, launched the company’s Adopt a Friend campaign. This company sponsored program provides support to animal rescue shelters that serve the communities in which Storage Express facilities are located. Shreve will present a $500 gift to the New Albany Floyd County Animal Shelter  during the grand opening event.
Festivities to follow on-site include refreshments provided by Sellersburg’s El Nopal Mexican Restaurant and prize drawings, including a grand prize weekend get-away provided by the Eagle Point Golf & Tennis Resort on Indiana’s Lake Monroe.
Residents of Sellersburg and its neighboring communities are invited to share in the fun by stopping by the new Storage Express location on Thursday, June 25th between Noon and 2:00 pm.
