Meet Sable

Meet Sable. Sable is a rather large girl that is not handling the Shelter life well. She is a very friendly girl that is much happier in larger spaces. She was found as a stray so little is known about her past. She is believed to be about 8 years old. She is spayed, microchipped, Felv/FIV tested negative and current on vaccinations. Her adoption fee is only $20 dollars. Visit this lovely plus sized lady at the New Albany Animal Shelter today. She is ready to start her new life, are you? More adoptable animals can be seen by clicking the “Adoptable Pets” tab above!

Meet Sherry

Sherry has a birth defect that resulted in the malformation of her upper eyelids. Her vision is not impaired, but she does squint. Sherry hasn’t let this deter her from being as loving as she can be! She is believed to be about 1 year old. She is spayed, microchipped, Felv/FIV tested negative and current on vaccinations. Her adoption fee is only $20. Visit her at the NAFC Animal Shelter today!

Furbaby Kitten Shower

At the New Albany Animal Shelter kitten season is beginning quicker than ever thanks to a mild winter! While cats can get pregnant year round, in early summer shelters around the world begin to see an influx of nursing moms and babies.

In most cases, litters of kittens must stay at the shelter for several weeks until they are weaned and large enough for surgery. Mother cats and kittens may have a harder time handling the stress of a shelter environment and may not be able to maintain their babies or their own health for an extended stay.

To welcome all of the new furbaby families and fosters, the New Albany Floyd County Animal Shelter is hosting a Furbaby Kitten Shower on Saturday, May 13th  from 4-5 PM. Come and enjoy lots of shower games, refreshments, and of course kittens! Families can also sign up to become Furbaby Fosters!  Admission is free, but a donation to welcome the new babies would be appreciated.
