Dog Training Classes for Shelter Alumni Dogs Start on August 7th
Posted by: shelter | Posted on: July 28, 2011The New Albany Floyd County Animal Shelter’s Pet Pointers Training Academy now offers a Beginning Obedience Class for dogs adopted from our shelter.
This 6 week class is an introductory course in training your dog to be a better companion. In addition, we also introduce agility obstacles to increase your dog’s confidence. Costs are $20.00 for dogs adopted from The New Albany Floyd County Animal Shelter and will be held at Hillside Animal Clinic on Sunday nights at 6pm.
The first night will be Sunday, Aug 7th. This class will be an orientation where you can fill out paperwork, pay for class, and have your dog fitted properly with your collar choice. All dogs need to wear a gentle leader, or martingale collar. Choke chains are not recommended. If you have another choice, please speak to Theresa about this at the first class, or call the shelter. In addition, you must have a 6 foot leash, and soft treats. To download forms , see out training and behavior page on the website.
