Shelter Update and THANKS TO SUPPORTERS!

Posted by: | Posted on: January 20, 2010

As many of you know, the shelter is still overflowing from our seized dogs. Donations of blankets, blankets, and more blankets have been helpful and appreciated. The staff also wishes to thank the FCARL dog walkers that have volunteered their time. In a situation like we have been facing, every little bit helps.

Petsmart in Clarksville proved to be  a godsend the day that the Save That Dog Sanctuary seizure occurred. When we got the additional 41 dogs back to the shelter, we quickly realized that we did not even have enough food bowls for these dogs and the rest of the animals in our care.  When we put in a call to Gary Stoner, the Petsmart store manager, he quickly contacted the corporate office of Petsmart Charities to request assistance for us. Their donation of food bowls, additional leashes, and extra pooper scoopers came almost immediately and proved to be invaluable! Thank you Petsmart!!!

We hope that a resolution of the situation for the Fraze dogs will be reached by the end of the week. These dogs seemed to have enjoyed the quiet of the shelter, and we’ve never seen dogs so appreciative of warmth and a blanket. They seemed to snore away for 2 days! We all hope that as many of the dogs as possible can be placed.
